checking in again

so, been a while. a fair bit has come and gone since my last update, like my birthday, canada day, and a whole bunch of unpleasant personal shit unfortunately. whatever, at the very least i'm in the mood to update this site again. hiii, whoever's reading this. i missed youu :)

i kinda lost sight of my goal with my site- to have fun! i felt pressured to update/keep working on pages that i stopped caring about... so now i'm loosening up so i can enjoy myself again. perfection be damned, life is too short to stress about the fine details of your unserious, self-indulgent hobby site.

speaking of, PD's Picks as an article is likely not happening, at least not now. apologies to anyone looking forward to it, my motivation just disappeared. from now on, i'm only gonna work on what i want to, regardless of what i've said previously.

but anyways, PIPEDREAMZ v2!! let's go!!! this site has been up for just over a year, so it's about time i kinda redid the homepage. the "v2" thing is mostly for fun and not based on anything, but it does feel like a different era now- i've lost interest in some of my older pages, and have ideas for new ones. let's hope the next year for this site is a fun one :D

i tried hot pot for the first time a while back. i'm not usually a soup person, but that shit was GOOD. anyway...

haiii, PD here. i wanted to talk a bit :p

february is always a busy month for me, but it's extra busy this year. the things that will fill my time are either super fun or super boring. no in between. one thing i will share though is my birthday is one of the fun things! i don't know how i'll spend the day yet, though.

unrelated, but i loooove lovecore, man. i consider it a gift to be born in THE lovecore month. now, i don't really follow aesthetics, but i'm glad the "dollar store valentine's day" look has a recognized name now, as i've been a fan of it for years. you already KNOW i'm hitting the stores on february 15th to get deals on shit with hearts on it. looking forward to that at least!!

speaking of which, the february theme is up! i had so much fun making it, it's meant for valentine's day, but it's truly a birthday gift for me with how much i like it.

as for more website-ly updates, volume one of PD's Picks is in the works. basically, it's a type of article i intend to make into a series. it'll be like a blog where i share recommendations and talk about cool things. for volume one, all i need to do is finish writing about the last topic. i hope you'll like it when it comes out!

anyway, more random stuff.

i'm intrigued by lolita fashion these days? i was gonna say "into" but that's not exactly accurate, as i don't own any clothes or participate in the subculture. i like how cute, whimsical, and unapologetically girlish the style is though. perhaps this will age poorly and i'll have a lolita section on this website in the future, hehe. the main things stopping me from getting into it are the cost, and my lack of desire to wear things that draw too much attention to me. perhaps i'll remain a casual admirer?

i changed the magazine page of the moment to this old persona 3 page in honour of persona 3 reload releasing soon. i have no immediate plans to play it as i still have p5r and p4g (on the way; i bought the limited run physical copy) to finish. one thing that i will play when it comes out though is side order for splatoon 3! super hyped for that.

i also used the most pathetic automatic soap dispenser ever today. i waited a solid 10 seconds then it dispensed a single floating soap bubble. no soap.

first blog post, yippee! as you can tell by the date, it's christmas (future PD here, seems like i'm uploading it a day later). i'm writing this during some downtime i have before dinner. however, my family celebrates on the 24th, so i've already exchanged gifts with everyone.

notably, i got the super mario odyssey artbook! looking through it has been such a joy so far- my favourite part is the beta character designs. i really wish i discovered artbooks earlier in my life. better late than never though! anyway, the background i chose for this page is concept art for how the mushroom kingdom would look in odyssey.

mainly, i'm writing this to say i'm still alive and that i think of this website almost every day. i've been incredibly busy with college and life in general, so that has hampered my ability to update my site. i daydream about stuff i can add a lot, so hopefully i'll be able to implement more of my ideas in the new year.

also rip to La Galleria, i had to remove it to make room for "blog" on the header :(
basically, it was going to be a hub for various themed digital collages. i might revisit this idea someday, but it's not a huge priority for me.
